Jenny’s paintings were displayed in numerous galleries and art shows in New York City as well as in Portland, Oregon, where she now lives most of the year. Jenny continues to volunteer, organize, and provide children and adults with a safe place (her studio) for creating art. Jenny has fallen in love with Mayne Island, the beauty of the island as well as the people and community has Jenny desiring to spend more and more time on Mayne.

My ideas come from what I see around me and how those images make me feel. I’m attracted to strong lines – actual and implied – and to deep contrasts.
I often start with an image, or the memory of an image, and let it click through my circuitry, then I color, scratch, and emphasize till a new piece arises.
About Jenny
New York City-born and raised Jenny Johnpoll discovered the joy of art and creativity from a very young age. Shy, quiet, introspective, and intuitive, art helped her to negotiate and translate the world around her. She studied fine arts and art therapy at the prestigious School of Visual Arts in NYC and graduated with a BFA (Bachelor of Fine Arts), as well as a Certificate for Art Therapy. She obtained an MSW (Master of Social Work) at Hunter College (School of Social Work) as well as her Post Masters at NYU (New York University).
